Frustrated

To E-file a Form 1 you need to attach your documents to the application.

Not more than 10 files, totaling not more than 30mb with no single file larger than 3mb.

The 18 pages of my trust scans to 34.2mb as a 300 dpi pdf.

The 5 pages of the certification is 3.3mb...

Head, desk, we meet again.

  1. Open your file in a full version of adobe Acrobat, click on "save as" and select "reduced size PDF" then see what happens to the file size. I can't tell the difference in the printed result but you can shave 30% to 50% on the file size.

    1. Opened my scan in the full version of the Preview App that came with the Macs and it had the reduced size option under "save as". However, I'd love a copy of full Acrobat, can you spot me $5,000 or so? ;)

Now all I have to do is wait for ATF to get the e-file system to accept something besides Form 6 and 6A.

  2. Heh, the joys of being an apple owner. I use a windoze machine so bought full version of acrobat 8 (yes, older but new in a box) for about 100 bucks on e-bay. Never understood why anyone needs the latest and greatest when older iterations work just fine, hell, sometimes work better than the newer bloatware. Glad you have the same functionality on your Preview App (WTH is that? ;-)

    1. Preview is the pdf viewer that came preinstalled with the Macs. It's also the default picture viewer.
