Voting Against My Self Interest

What that really means is someone is voting against what someone else thinks their interests are.

It might be OK for them to look down their noses and tell me I'm wrong if they'd bothered to notice that "my interests" are always their interests they want me to support.

They've never asked me what my interests are or checked to see if I received any actual help from voting in "my interest."

"My interest" comes with strings.  Rules that I must abide to receive the assistance that invariably make my life worse than before the "help".
