Forty Years

On this day, 40 years ago, my dad surprised me by coming home early and taking me to a movie.

I was unaware of what movie, but he knew I loved all things space and science fiction, so...

Little did we know, we were participating in what would become a phenomenon.

Star Wars.

    Looking back at that I still feel sorry for my poor mother. On the LONG drive back from the theater she had to keep the car on the road while the 7 year-old me was bouncing all around the car babbling.
