Look them up and notice there's an astonishing number of .22's listed in the weapons and a remarkable concentration in places with very strict control; let alone most of them happening in gun-free victim zones like schools and airports.

One thing I think is a factor is copy-cats. Because the media plays up shootings so much to advance their political agenda of gun banning I think they are actually increasing the number of shootings because many of the kind of evil and/or insane people who do them want to become infamous or just get in the news, even if it is for a bad thing.
