Won't Work

Guns simply aren't that complicated.

It's been noticed more than once that everything you need to build a submachine gun is available at Lowe's and Home Depot (including tools).

The banners then claim that banning ammo would stop that from working.

Cartridges aren't that complicated either.

The chemistry of the ammunition isn't near so complicated as the organic chemistry going into making Meth.  Banning and restricting ever more esoteric precursor chemicals that are used to make meth is working like gangbusters, isn't it?

You get a complete ban in the US and insurgency is going to be your new buzz word.

To be really bothersome you don't even need that great a gun.  The Liberator pistol concept from WW2 is a valid concept.  The insurgents in the US don't even have to get lucky very often to cause the price of our, now openly evil, government's security to enter a death spiral.

It gets vindictive enough and those employees and agents of the government need to protect their families too.

I can see an insurgency that makes MS13 look out and say, "¡Madre de Dios!" in its brutality.

Americans have mean streaks that we bury deep and don't show people.  It's there though.

It's an important lesson that needs to never be forgot.  Never EVER back someone with nothing left to lose into a corner.
