Even the dino oils have better additives now and the formulation of the additives makes a huge difference.
SofwareJanitorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10511295863793065111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1406088964942152547.post-27835311471783139892019-10-22T22:15:38.953-04:002019-10-22T22:15:38.953-04:00All those loosely controlled hydrocarbons ended up...All those loosely controlled hydrocarbons ended up in the oil pan. As a side note lots of those engine repairs I did had heavy oil break down deposits in the pan.(deferred maintenance) Recently I changed the oil pan gasket on my 08 Wrangler.120k and a perfectly clean internal oil pan. I was surprised. I'll be curious what my trucks will look like when the time comes.Alretired wrenchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06335281085622495918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1406088964942152547.post-15009302778655974202019-10-22T14:11:25.431-04:002019-10-22T14:11:25.431-04:00I'm increasing the frequency of the changes no...I'm increasing the frequency of the changes now just to keep things cleaner.

I've been astonished at how much cleaner the oil is with the long intervals than the 3k changes with carbs and TBI were.Angus McThaghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09295013525738248801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1406088964942152547.post-43664040289864613822019-10-22T13:55:58.625-04:002019-10-22T13:55:58.625-04:00Dude, 8390 on an oil change? My workdays went by putting pistons/rings,camshafts and lifters and oil pumps in gen 3 engines. Many schools of thought on oil change intervals but since I fully depreciate my vehicles they never go over 4k.Anyway Precious will love her new lifeblood.Alretired wrenchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06335281085622495918noreply@blogger.com
