I've had a couple three Mosin-Nagant M-1891/30's... I've sold or given all of them away for one reason or another. The given-away have come back more than once as well.
I thought that I'd managed to get rid of the last one... And it's still gone!
Willard presented me with a gift today.
Tatyana is a 1941 made Izhevsk 91/30 with every indication of being a pre-Barbarossa gun.
Compared to a 1942 model...
I have a 1932 Ishy hex and a 1942 Ishy round . I really love seeing the level of craftsmanship before and after Tula was abandoned.
ReplyDeleteWith the Finnish guns I also have pre-Soviet comparisons too. The Kiv/39 is on an 1899 Tula hex and the Kiv/28-30 is on a 1915 Tula hex (of course you don't really need to say hex with those old guns since the round had not been invented yet.)
