...to me!
The Boy has been listening to The Lovely Harvey plotting to buy gifts for our 14th Anniversary.
That's Ivory for those scoring at home.
He knows I like guns, he sees Mom looking at stuff.
"Get Daddy those!"
Boone Trading Company bonded ivory grips for a 1911.
They do look fine on a blue .38 Super, don't they?
Not bad! Still I have an unnatural preference to double-diamond checkering on a 1911.
ReplyDeleteSmooth grips just look odd to me.
Ivory is supposed to be smooth. Haven't you read about it's near magical stickiness without being sticky?
DeleteI remember reading gush after florid gush about the feel of ivory.
Boone Trading's fake stuff does a good job of evoking such feelings.
I used to have some Hogue wood grips that were smooth, for my since departed M1991A1 Commander. I rather liked them...
ReplyDeleteI am planning on getting some like them, or mayhaps some G10 grips, for my Ruger SR1911 CMD.
I approve heartily.
