Hell most of the stuff farmers spray on crops to get the plants to grow, the weeds to die, and the bugs to die or find food elsewhere are organic compounds per the definition of Organic Chemistry.
Honestly from what I've read there is enough wiggle room in "Certified Organic Food", as well as "Free Range" et al that really the landscape looks like the post AWB weapons catalogs more than a bunch of dirt-hugging hippie dreams!
