Never having my Marlin around the same time someone else has had a Winchester around, I can only comment on the major difference that I noted: the Marlin ejects from the side, and the Winchester ejects from the top, which means that mounting a scope may be more problematic for the Winchester. Unless you have prefect eyesight and don't need/want a scope. :)
