Still Picking Up The Pieces After 100 Years.

The Real "No-Go Zone" of France.


Blue: Area without damage.
Green: Least bit affected area.
Yellow: Area of damage.
Red: Area completely devastated or "red zone".

Uckfay.

The scale of WW1 still boggles the mind sometimes.

We're still finding stuff at Gettysburg and that was a mere three day battle.  Verdun was 100 times longer (and that's just the battle, not the entire time the area was contested.)

    if you are ambitious and interested, Michelin published a bunch of tour guides to the battlefields (just after WW1), with maps, pics and stuff.
