Distrust

By the way, Officer Friendly, this is one of the reasons that the average citizen doesn't trust you.

Almost four times as much is confiscated in civil forfeiture than is stolen in burglaries.

Taken from people who often aren't even arrested, let alone charged with a crime.  This is the true culmination of the deodand mentality in American "law" enforcement.

    This is another gift-that-keeps-on-giving from the War on (Some) Drugs, and is one of the reasons why even people who don't do drugs themselves (like me) want the Wo(S)D gone.
