The Republican concern about the wants, needs and feelings of illegal aliens is nothing new.
When any politician chooses to worry about the rights of a criminal over the rights of the law-abiding, it's a bad thing.
But scorning the rights of their fellow citizens in favor of foreigners who were never in our country legally?
There's a reason I often called 'W' El Presidente de Mexico Norte Jorge Arbusto.
We don't even need to revive Operation Wetback.
Proof of citizenship to receive any welfare benefit. This disincentivizes the illegals who come here to mooch.
Put a mandatory 25 year sentence on hiring an illegal alien. This disincentivizes the illegals to come here to work.
Officially change "natural born" citizenship to mean a child born from parents in the nation legally. This disincentivizes anchor babies. This also addresses a key problem with the illegal population in that the parents are here to work and are working hard, the kids are trending to crime and gang affiliation in many places.
Three things that would cause nearly all of the illegals to self-deport. You can't prove I'm wrong because this has never been tried.
On the deportation side...
Third time you get caught after being deported, gallows. Hang them at the border with a "Atrapados colarse de nuevo." sign around their now stretched neck.
I've long felt that the legal protections of this nation are primarily for its citizens and should be extended to our guests. Coming into the country illegally forfeits your claim to those protections.
It's the same idea as, "don't want me to shoot you; don't break into my house," expanded to the national level.
Part of going after people who hire illegals is that any measures taken to screen out illegals result in trouble with the law. Disproportionate impact, or something like that. The Civil Rights law of 1965 needs changing; it was written far too broadly. Unfortunately, even looking at it cross-eyed will set off SJWs worse than saying that transsexuals do not belong in public restrooms, but in Arkham Asylum.
ReplyDeleteI'm alluding to it with my, "I've long felt that the legal protections of this nation are primarily for its citizens and should be extended to our guests. Coming into the country illegally forfeits your claim to those protections."
DeleteCivil rights are for citizens and legal aliens. If you're here illegally, no protection. We can certainly develop a process that accords citizens and legal aliens these protections while stripping them from illegals. An arresting officer would behave as if an illegal is a legal until a finding is done to determine the immigration status of the accused. But once that finding is complete and the person is found to be here illegally; what rights?
We've got to start realizing that we don't owe any foreigner who happens to wander over the border anything.
But then I still think that the Nation State model was a good one, putting me in conflict with liberals, businessmen and libertarians.
