Cartridge OverAll Length
Weer'd's comments here got me to check...
The rounds are well back from the mouth of the cylinder, let alone approaching interfering with the forcing cone.
Something I was able to find out was they never had their own headstamp, starline is the norm for BVAC. This picture also got me noticing something else. That bullet is cocked slightly in the brass. That can't be good for accuracy!
I live just down the road from BVAC (here in "the 'Root' " as we say) - the Bitterroot Valley of Southwestern Montana> BVAC's quality control sucks, and even if I didn't reload most of my own ammo from 9mm to 45-110, I wouldn't buy from them. A guy at the local range (before I bought a place where I can shoot on my own land) showed me a box of .40 S&W he bought from them. It had several 9mm rounds in it too, which would not have been nice if he had missed them and loaded them into his pistol. I've seen a destroyed .40 cal pistol where a 9mm was touched off. Not a pretty sight. I don't recall if the shooter (or a bystander) was injured.
ReplyDeleteYou might want to spend just a little bit more for some Magtech, Prvi Partison, or if you are really hurting for cash, some S&B (Sellier & Bellot).
