Looking Good So Far

Took The Precious around the block.

Brake lights appear to work.

Cruise control is working.

No warning lights.

No Driver's Information Center messages.

That's as close to a complete success as I can call it without calibrating the sensor with a Tech2.

The calibration might not even be necessary if the resistance range of the new sensor's rheostat is the same as the failed one.

    I must confess that I am having trouble rationalising why they use a "brake pedal POSITION sensor" at all.

    Is this one of the vehicles fitted with brake-by-wire?
    Are there other functions in the car's systems that are affected by how fast and how hard you stamp on the brake pedal?
