Whose head are you going to be shooting at out there at 600 yards?
Because in a military situation, wearing the wrong clothes is enough justification. You're not a soldier.
Whose house are you planning on dynamically entering?
If it's not your house, isn't that breaking and entering with intent to kill?
If it is your house, how did you come to be locked out by the bad guys and are now on your own to get back in?
I think some of this gun training stuff has advanced to "airsoft with real guns". Sure, it's fun, but...
Remember Randy Weaver? As far as I know, nothing happened to Lon Horiuchi. If you or I had shot a nursing mother in the head with a sniper rifle when she was holding nothing more dangerous than an assault baby, we'd be lucky to not be on Death Row...and we'd be doing LWOP in protective custody.
ReplyDeleteThe home invasion class I took was big on "call the cops if you don't have to enter the home." And sitting in the corner in the closet may or may not be the best strategy while your door is kicked in in the middle of the night. I'm sure you can apply at least one principle out of the two day class to something other than robbing homes. Shooting under stress was part of it. Enter the room, figure out your targets, make a decision right now, and shoot or not shoot. Could apply to a million scenarios on we carry a gun daily. Also, it takes the "just shooting paper" out of additional handling and training. Besides, fun is a perfectly acceptable reason.

DeleteAnd if that is your reason, say so!
