I noticed, but forgot to mention, that the M&P-9 and the M&P-9 Shield have identical geometry between the trigger and grip.
Same reach, same angles, same trigger guard. The Shield is, obviously, narrower, but it feels very similar to my hand.
It made transitioning to the smaller gun a lot easier.
It seems manufacturers like to have a consistent product line and design for that. I don't know why I was surprised to find they design automotive exhaust systems for a specific sound profile, but they do. Corvettes don't sound like Mustangs. It's easier to design a gun for a specific feel.
ReplyDeleteI have several Springfield Armory guns, no two are the same model. They all feel alike.
