I asked The Lovely Harvey about paying extra into the principle for our mortgage.
Being the smart little cookie she is... We already were.
One good thing about PHH is they've an entry box for paying extra into the principle and another for adding to the escrow.
I am now tempted to pay a lot more into the mortgage to service more principle.
Readily paid for by getting rid of the satellite TV we don't really use much any more, I just need to convince Harvey that losing the ability to watch reruns of Last Man Standing and Law & Order is worth it.
Do the math about satellite TV. We got rid of all the premium channels because basically they don't have much of anything of value all year long. When enough stuff is available in the premium channels to watch, We get it via Amazon Prime Video for a month and binge the crap out of the channel. We do the same with Netflix.
ReplyDeleteAs for TV shows, there are some new internet channels that may carry them "free" but with commercials.
Basically, Amazon Prime Video and a Fire Stick are a wonderful solution.
Yep, what Miguel said.
DeleteAlso, the firestick is somewhat hackable. You can put an ad-free YouTube app and a network media player like Kodi on it.
That internet thingy reminds me of the good old days of big-arsed satellite dish tv, before everything became scrambled. Can't wait to watch the prices jump in a few years, like they always do.
DeleteI don't know about "Last Man Standing", but we dumped cable at our house a couple of years ago. It hasn't stopped anybody from watching nearly unlimited re-runs of "Law and Order: Original Recipe" or "L&O: Kinky Sex Crimes" on broadcast TV.
