Advanced Body Armor
My medium coyote brown Tetsudo II and 10x12 Level III plates arrived today!
21.2 lb. as shown. It's only going to get heavier from here as I add pouches, magazines, holsters, blades and sundries.
As feared, the bottom edge is really too high to hang many things from and have them be even remotely handy.
It needs a belt below if it's going to replace the 5.11 Tactical Purse.

i wouldn't put the tactical purse contents on the plate carrier. keep them separate so its more versatile. the plates will be too heavy for some situations and take too long to don. other than static defense, i never run plates. and i don't believe in static defense. just my 2 cents, .5 after taxes.
ReplyDeleteThe ammo is moving to the vest or, at least, there will be ammo on the vest.
DeletePlate carriers are ammo carrying vests with armor in them, not web gear, I am discovering.
If you want a complete LBE out of it, you're looking at a different set of kit. The Army's vest is an LBE with pockets for armor, for example.
For the most part, this is a photo prop. It's most "practical" use is to justify a "me" in GURPS having the item to the Gamemaster.
