I attempted to purchase a rifle from Wal Mart today.
Attempted.
Gave up is more accurate.
They want more paperwork than both the Feds and Florida require.
Then, once you pass the background check, they put a three business day hold on it even if there's no legal requirement. Once the three day hold ends, THEN the state mandated wait starts.
A place that's open 24/7 doesn't count weekends and bank holidays towards their own corporate imposed extra wait?
It would literally have been pay today and pick up on January 2nd.
It's like they don't want to sell the things and are putting up barriers to discourage sales so that they can make a "declining sales" argument to end all firearms sales later on.
I can get it with a scope from a GunBroker dealer by then for the same price.
For a verity of reasons, all store related it took me 2 days to purchase a "Keystone Cricket" which is a single shot 22 bolt action Youth rifle . Once purchased, it had to be carried out of the store by a manager.
