The outside compressor seized up and blew both fuses.
I am happy we bought two window units when we went buying window units.
We have the big one installed in the kitchen, where we hope it will cool the adjacent living room.
Fingers crossed.
Dammit, it was doing so well yesterday and today.
With everything going on, we simply can't get someone out to fix it.
Anyone wanna donate their stimulus check?
Dude, that sucked.
ReplyDeleteWe got rid of her family mooching off of us when our main a/c went TU and we got a window unit for our bedroom. They finally all moved out and we got a new ac within a week.
You'll be happy with the performance of the new units. Quieter, more energy efficient. Don't worry about one of those UV light filters, they suck. But if you can afford it, the box filters are really nice.
Hope things go well and someone manages to toss some dough your way. And I hope it's soon.
We don't have an inlaw mooching problem. Far from it.
DeleteMa's care takes up a lot of Harvey's time, but not much money.
Doing home improvement over there is devouring time and energy and delaying projects here.
I think we're getting a handle on things and might be closer than I think to affording a replacement.
We were on borrowed time with our central air - 15 years old and getting to know the service guys by name. The average length of life is 11 years. I figured it was likely to die in the summer when we had an extended streak of high 90s days, so we replaced it at the start of March. I don't want to think about that cost but at least the new system is working better than the old one at its best
