Congratulations on your anniversary! My wife keeps a picture of me from back in the day (USN) around, and just the other day I saw it and realized that the picture was about 30 years old. SMH. Got out 25 years ago.
You've given me some ironic thoughts. I was born in a military hospital with a screwed up leg that the Air Force doctors did a fairly good job of fixing up but a I get older it does give me problems. The irony is that they 4-F'ed me at birth so I never served. (I did get into a few situations as a defense contractor in the mid east and Korea where I had to remind people that I was a civilian). I guess you can't have a screwed up leg going in but you can sure have one coming out! Just trying to say hang in there and any walking is good walking. Many can't. Mike Knowles in Texas

In July I was out of the navy for 44 years. I enjoyed my time there.

On 19 September 1990, I had been in Saudi Arabia as part of DESERT SHIELD for one month.
ReplyDeleteMy unit was there, I was just getting out of the hospital and getting my medical discharge.
