The Glock 45 is essentially a Glock 19 slide on a Glock 17 frame.
I like mine.
There's a thread on Arfcom where someone is describing all the changes he'd be making to his Glock 45...
The list is standard, popular, Glock upgrades; except: Cutting the grip down to Glock 19 length.
Ummmm.
That's called a Glock 19. They still make those. You don't have to modify a 45 to get a 19 because you can just BUY a 19 all ready to go.
It's not even like he bought the 45 and decided it was too long. He's stated he intends to buy a 45 and then begin modding.
Thag not Grok.
Or he could buy an 80% Arms GST-9 which has swappable grip modules and can go back and forth between G19 and G17 grip length with a G19 size slide or even swap in G17 size slide with an adapter and the right barrel with G19 style lug. No modding needed, the switch between grip lengths is just drive out a pin and swap, the slides and barrels are all off the shelf parts. But I guess some people have to do things the hard way.
ReplyDeleteThe point being that if you want a Glock 19, you can just buy one without cutting down a Glock 45.
DeleteIf you want both a 45 and a 19 but can only afford one gun, then 80% arms is enticing.
