M$ makes it hard to use a known good key to fix a bad key these days. Once their servers glom onto your "hardware fingerprint" it takes an act of Gates to change it. I got stuck on a bad key from a client and the only fix was to install a different SKU of Windows. It's quite possible that your copy of 10 Pro won't activate because it uses a bad key and the best fix is probably a different hard drive and possibly a NIC if it's easily swappable. Then install Linux on the cursed SSD.
The M$ OS I was happiest with was XP. I grew to like it better than 98.
Win7 is... functional? I'm OK with it and most of what I knew from XP still works.
They make it too hard to get a new copy of Win10 without paying for it again? The hard drive for the old machine I was trying to convert to Win10 still has Win7 and that works just fine for what I intend to use the machine for!
i liked xp also, and 7 wasn't bad...what i hated about 8 through the current versions is app integration and tryin gto make it like a phone or tablet...i enjoy gaming...i wish they would make a light version of windows that you could game on...i don't need all the other crap...shit, the free programs on the internet do a better job than most microshit products...i use libre office...there are better media players, music players, file explorers, burner software i've been using for years that works better then anything they make and a most of them are executables and won't install crap over my registry...think i'm going to break out my windows 7 computer and do a fresh install of 7 so i can play some older games since dice/ea fucked up battlefield 2042 up so bad no one plays it and it's only been out since end of nov...sad...panzer guy...
