Here in Texas the Police no longer have the leeway to even get away with that kind of nonsense because long guns have never been prohibited from open carry and now open and concealed carry of handguns is allowed without permit. It's far past the time when Florida should be on the same page as far as that goes.
Finding a 28-year veteran cop so stupid he has no working knowledge of the 4th amendment is apparently like shooting fish in a barrel, in 50 states and seven US territories. The spanking was delightful, but other than the personal satisfaction, pretty much like peeing yourself in a brown suit: it gives one a warm feeling, but nobody notices.
If such cases sought and received the total revocation of qualified immunity, and put such serial-offending groups of douchebadges at risk for living in a carboard box underneath a freeway overpass for the next 50 years on unemployment insurance for the offenses committed, the lemon would be worth the squeeze.
