Big Brake Blues

Big brakes and multi-piston calipers often come with copious amounts of brake dust.

Big brakes also mean you can't really reach between the spokes to get the inside of the rim clean.

But boy howdy do they look AWESOME when you clean them up.

That means taking the wheel off.

I decided that was too simple and rotated the tires too.

I should have taken a picture.  Maybe I will later and edit this post.

  1. I recommend this product https://adamspolishes.com/products/adam-s-deep-wheel-cleaner It smells TERRIBLE, but I've often found that the worse a cleaning product smells the better they work. With the exception of Hoppes #9. Now, Hoppes Copper Cutter follors the rule, as does Shooter's Choice, which is one of my other favorites.

    1. You will never guess what I used to clean the rims!

Marv discovered for me, and it turned cleaning rims from a tedious chore to a relatively quick wipe. Access is the main problem now, not cleaning power.

    2. Yeah, access is an issue, especially with some rim designs.

    3. If there's a product better than that Adam's stuff I'd love to hear what it is.
