I mentioned that SNAP adds up to about $55 a month and noted that I couldn't stay fat on that.
Several of you mention all of the other sources of food funding someone with SNAP is eligible for and it puts lie to the idea that these beneficiaries are going to starve without it.

Though, it needs to be said that a lot of state programs are actually the states managing the disbursement of federal funding. Some of those might be drying up from the shutdown as well. I expect that they're not drying up soon because the press would be detailing all the lost programs in attempt to paint Trump as an evil grinch.
