The show, Wednesday, is disappointing.
It is not creepy, kooky, mysterious, or spooky and is altogether lacking ooky.
It's a formulaic high school murder mystery with characters stolen from a different property.
I will gut it out to the end, but there's no rewatch potential and no desire for a sequel.
Meh. Lisa Loring died last year.

Sadly typical of recent "high concept", take a well known and loved book or show and do a "reboot" or spin off using a writing team that is at best ignorant and at worse antipathetic to the source, trumpet loudly in media and flop. At least Wednesday is only bland unlike the incoherent mess of "Rings of Power" or the hot mess of "Velma"
ReplyDeleteThe show "Adult Wednesday Addams," which was done as a very high-production level series on yousetubs, was actually everything you would have expected from, well, an adult Wednesday Addams. Very good, very excellent, and, of course, got a cease and desist order from whomever had/has the rights to the intellectual property.
