Get it out of your head and heart that you will ever see a bill through Congress that cannot be twisted or misused.
You will never see one. Ever.
If you can't get that notion out of your head, you're never going to see any advancement to your rights, ever.
Don't like it? Tough shit.
Don't like me saying it? Tough shit.
Shit canning every attempt to make things even a little better makes you look like inflexible fanatics.
Inflexible fanatics who only a couple short years ago were demanding compromise in our direction instead of it being all one sided.
We got that, but it wasn't perfect (because it cannot be) and you would not hear of it being passed.
So we get nothing, because it was all or nothing with you and you sure were louder than the more reasonable voices.
All or nothing means NOTHING. Every time. Without exception.
So now I know when you say no compromise, you mean, "I'm anti rights and anti-gun!" and I know I can ignore you from now on. Traitors.

ReplyDeleteI think I can say with no exaggeration that National Reciprocity was killed by our side. I must have gotten three emails every week from the Gun Owners of America telling me to write my senators that the bill was unacceptable and saying you can never trust the law if Chuckie Schumer got anywhere near it, regardless of what the black letter text says. Guess what? He gets near every law.
ReplyDeleteFrom my perspective, I'd say the bill was killed by the GOA. They may consider that an accomplishment. They will never get another penny from me.
We got some reading comprehension problems here. Look directly above the box you're making your comment in...
ReplyDeleteSee that simple, single line of text? Read it.
Still not sure what you are saying if I took it out of txt ok but giving up your fellow shooters so you can carry is selfish and something most or us won't consider you still don't see if you play with the left they will screw you take what they gave you and everything you had before we either all go to the party is none at all let's see if this one gets deleted
ReplyDeleteYou didn't read the bill. Did you?
DeleteYou didn't research the language with the incentives to the states to report the things they were already supposed to be reporting. Did you?
You didn't check how the courts had been interpreting that language. Did you?
But you damn sure made a Blogger account to call me stupid on my own blog. Didn't you?
I'm not going to live in fear of what MIGHT happen. We need to stop being afraid of our own shadows. We need to read the bills before we condemn them. Knowing what they say means we can offer intelligent rebuttals to the language of the laws and give reasonable demands of our congresscreatures.
Screaming about the sky falling because Chuck Schumer likes the bill and assuming there's something there that isn't won't get us anything.
There's nothing in that bill that changed who's prohibited. It just made it more likely that some prohibited people would be henceforth prevented from buying a gun through an FFL through financial incentives to the state law enforcement agencies. I have to ask, why does THAT worry you? Are you a prohibited person who's slipped through the cracks and are suddenly worried the record will be corrected?
False positives and getting them corrected remain at the state level, where there's actually procedures and funding to get them corrected.
And just to ram it home again: if we could pass a perfect bill, IT WOULD BE PASSED ALREADY. Perfect is the mortal enemy of good enough.
I agree to not living in fear that's my point we need to be United on these things if it doesn't help everyone its garbage I had lived in a state that was and still is the worst for gun owners I have been on the side of where the rest of the country didn't give a shit about NYers but we still fought I finally had to leave a home that my family lived in for more than 80 years just so I could get a sense of freedom before I died.I will never compromise with someone else's rights its for all or none. You can't give them an inch they will never give you anything they can't take away you can't compromise with them they will screw you Everytime.I do feel I should say I regret jumping to name calling but when plp think we can compromise with the left I'm here as proof you can't.i have read the bill and the fix nic do you really want these plp to even have an avenue to possibly in the future be able to add plp as they see fit .I don't.
ReplyDeleteA problem that a lot of people have is they've grown to think that conceded is the same as compromise.
DeleteThere's been a history of concession from Republicans, not compromise.
But with national reciprocity we stood to get a lot without giving shit back. And no, we couldn't have that!
So we went no-compromise and now we have nothing. Again.
AGAIN. I am noticing that the post where I'm asking where the successful no-compromise bills and laws are has zero comments. But I guess purity is more important than any gains?
You mention not giving them an inch and being united? It's not the people holding my position who've proven that we can't cooperate and demanded that the anti-gunners get the smallest victory they can have, which is zero change to the status quo. They win because you enabled their victory.
Congratulations!
Oh and btw being from NY if you make it out of there without a record you are a lucky one especially when it comes to guns .registration mag bans ECT .you can't be an good citizen in that state
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for escaping!
DeleteIf we're going to fight for our universal rights we have to start with Federal laws that override oppressive state and local laws... Oh, wait...
We're our own worst enemies, and my own congressman is leading the charge:

I do understand what you are saying I do but there is no compromise with them I've been there I fallen victim to it they never give you anything they can't take away the original bill was more pure shell we say pass it without the fixnic I'll back it all the way and I don't know if you noticed but they never compromise ever they being the left they don't give you anything they don't have a plan to nullify later on.I Know this will sound like the words of a "fanatic" but you can't trust them they have an agenda they won't compromise on they give you nothing they don't have a plan for.
ReplyDeleteYou've chosen "they win" because the status quo is a victory for them.
DeleteYou clearly don't understand what I'm saying, because you're not ashamed of selling everyone out for your purity.
All or nothing is a losing strategy. Espousing a losing strategy isn't for winners.
But you'd rather be pure in defeat. Let your chains rest lightly.
And compromise only make you the mean of your own demise with the left
DeleteAll or nothing works for them
DeleteRead more of the blog before you comment again. I'm not going to repeat myself because you won't educate yourself. This is also notice that you're done commenting on this post.
Delete"I do understand what you are saying I do but there is no compromise with them"
ReplyDeleteDo you know what that "No Compromise" stances leads to? Lemme tell you something that just happened fresh in Florida. The last two seasons have been shit for gun rights because of a couple of RINOS in the Judiciary Committee. To make short long, three bills were introduced and one was essentially a crappy trade-off for the Open Carry, 100% weak tea.
I did not like the bill but I was not going to oppose it as something is better than nothng and another reason I will explain in a few.
But there is this group I shall call Chest Thumpers Of Florida who not only did not like the bill, but had fallen into the "Hating the NRA is Cool" bullcrap.
Now, during the prsentatio period where people come to the committee and present their approval or disapproval for a bill, Chest Thumpers Of Florida proudly stood up, went no compromise and said:
WE OPPOSE THIS BILL!"
Man... it was like an electric shock! Here we have the Defenders of the Second Amendment standing proud, no compromising and teaching them collaborators from Virginia how shit gets done. Amazing!
Except, another group had already said the same words. It had been Michael Bloomberg's & Shannon Watts' Moms Demand.
You know at the end what was the take? Headlines!
"State Gun Rights Organization joins Gun Control Group in opposing NRA-crafted bill."
The group was so intent on being No Compromise, they ended up siding with the enemy.
BTW, that has not been the only case. Something similar happened in Colorado last year with magazine capacity. Not a perfect bill by any means, but it accomplished 90% of what was needed. Another local "Gun Rights Group" went loudly against the bill and that was all the Dems needed to kill it while making headlines.
So please, spare me the Chest Thumping, the No Compromise attitude & the Super Patriot bullshit. At the endo of the day, you are Gun Control's Fifth Column.
The decision to not invade, and liberate, Norway in 1944 was not a compromise with Adolf Hitler, although it left thousands under the Nazi yoke. It was a strategic decision in a struggle to defeat Adolf. There is a difference
