Because of the impending delivery of my new bed, we're looking to rearrange the bedroom.
I have three short book shelves and would like to consolidate them into a taller and wider single book shelf.
I am not prepared to sell a kidney to get it.

A word to the wise. Beware of internet furniture. I purchased a very large cabinet to use for the LP's, turntable, cd player, and CDs, along with a power station, and the cable modem and Wifi, along with a bunch of room for Books, and several laptops! It arrived in record time considering it was very heavy and large (80 inches long, sixteen inches deep and 38 inches high). It is made out of chip board, and I had to put it together. The first two parts broke and fell apart. I contacted the company that distributes them, and they said that the cabinet had been discontinued, and they had no spare parts. They then said that they would refund the $400 bucks I paid for it, and they did NOT want it returned. Groovy. I spent a few weeks figuring out how to repair it, and was able to finish building it, except for the cabinet glass doors. The supposed holes in the cabinet for mounting the hinges did not exist. So I have that stumbling block that has yet to be hurdled. However it is very nice looking even without the doors on it. And is quite suitable for its intended purpose. Not too bad for a little elbow grease and the fact that it was essentially free. I'm acquainted with a cabinet maker, whom I should have gone to in the first place, but I'm fairly happy with the outcome.
ReplyDeleteIf they're a regular shape, you can stack the small ones you have use a piece of wood on the back at both sides to fasten them together.
ReplyDeleteOr you can put blocks between them, or there are other ways you can attach short book cases to stack them. I've got 4 short book cases attached in stacks of 2 next to me right now.
