California is banning Glocks because they're too easy to convert to full-auto.
California is blaming Glock for this.
This has me thinking.
Is there another product where the end-user modifies it and the manufacturer is responsible for the, illegal, modification?
I don't recall Ford, Chevy, GMC or Ram being implicated in the diesel tuner stuff. Just the tuners, the companies who made the tuning software and, in some cases, the owners of the trucks.
I've seen people get in trouble for removing the catalytic converters, but never seen the automakers get busted.
I've seen people get in trouble for aftermarket lighting and never seen the automaker get even chided.
Have Apple or Microsoft been subpoenaed because their operating systems do nothing to stop child pornography?
Once again, it's guns, it's different.
Completely true and shows the hypocrisy of government, especially liberals, and especially California.

And I notice that when they catch some gangsta with a converted Glock, somehow he doesn't get hit with federal charges for owning a machine gun. Wonder why that is?
ReplyDeleteTypical Democrat libtard pattern -- they call for more and more gun control laws yet they are soft on enforcing any laws at all. It usually appears that they believe criminals have more rights than victims or that they're outright trying to promote lawlessness to the point of societal breakdown so they can step in and impose their new Stalinesque system. And of course they deny that and say they are being compassionate or progressive or whatever. But at some point their BS starts to wear real thin.

For those of us outside the People's Democratic Republic of Californistan, we don't even need Glock any more to have Glock compatibles. There are several alternative frames and a myriad of makers of barrels, slides and parts. Even if Glock changes the design so the existing switches don't work there are millions of Glocks out there and people can still build equivalents based on the old design. Of course home building is more or less illegal already in Commiefornia, but if such things become rare and valuable enough there, the black market will respond to keep free trade (aka smuggling) alive. As usual with libtards it is mostly all pointless.

At least two of the DIY places are now closed, IIRC.
DeleteThat was true for a while until 5D Tactical picked up the manufacturing rights to the Polymer 80 receivers. However, you have to order the plastic frame, metal inserts and the jigs all separately now. It is more of a PITA, but really the whole thing Biden tried to do to ban 80% ultimately doesn't appear like it is going to work. Unfortunately it points out that Trump is not nearly the friend to the 2nd that some people might think, as he could very easily write off all the bad things Biden did in this area with his own EOs. Even though it is generally considered a no-no for a president to undo a predecessors EOs, Trump already did it on a few things and he generally doesn't care that much about breaking tradition. But he also scerwed up with the bump stock ban, so anyway, he can't be trusted to always do the right thing in general.
