The New York Fucking City's 73rd Precinct's Facebook Page posted this picture:
Sharp eyes and quick action. While patrolling Brownsville, our Public Safety team stopped someone for a quality-of-life violation and uncovered this loaded firearm. One more off the streets, keeping our community safer.
Considering that I've (almost) got one of those in my pocket right now...
That's an M&P Shield, mine's an M&P Shield Plus.
But one has to commend the heroism associated with disarming someone for the temerity of wanting to defend themselves and doing something that millions of people do everyday perfectly legally in the Free United States.

ReplyDeleteTwo things: I'm probably out of touch but I never head the term "quality-of-life violation". What does that mean? Any idea if they fine or imprison for that? It's one those terms that seems like it could be anything. They arrest you because your pants don't fit right according to someone so you'll be uncomfortable. What quality and of whose life? And then "keeping our community safer." Only for the people who want to rob you. Or worse.
I think it means the person they stole a gun from was homeless and sleeping in a spot they actually keep clear.
DeleteForget it Jake, it's New Yark, not part of the United States. It's part of the area on the reality map marked "Never go here."
