I'm very interested in steam power. I've built two expansion engines, the things that turn steam to linear and then rotary power. On that picture of the steam locomotive the little cylinders on the side under the boiler.
ReplyDeleteThe engineer and fireman for they locomotive would have been fired for burning they dirty. Dark black smoke like that means the fire isn't right. What you might see is a white smoke as steam is sent up the stack to increase draw.
But she sure is pretty...
