Will simply labeling an aircraft "10mm Socket" cause it to disappear?
Worth trying.

I never got that joke. Why 10mm? It's practically 3/8" - get a cheap sh** 3/8 socket at K-mart and it might work. I'm guessing it was just the first metric socket most people had.
ReplyDeleteIt's the socket you use most often because that's the most common fastener head size. Thus, it is the one most likely to get lost. It's often exacerbated by being in tight quarters and falling off the extension and disappearing between the fastener and the floor.
DeleteThe GM equivalent would have been a 1/2" or 7/16". Ford and MOPAR had different sizes so it didn't seem so universal as 10mm.
