Software Janitor is not familiar with S&W latest offerings.
This is an M&P 2.0 9 Compact.
It's about Glock 19 size and is distinct from the M&P 9C in capacity. The 9C only holds 12 rounds, this one takes 15.
As far as I can tell from trying to find spare magazines anyways.
The grip shape fits my hand a bit better than a Glock 19 and I like having a manual safety even if I shouldn't need one. Old. Set in ways.
This is my Goldilocks gun. It just fits my hand and I shoot it better than any other 9mm I've ever owned with the possible exception of the Browning HP.
It totes wonderfully in a gun-bra under a Hawaiian or flannel shirt when it's not unseasonably warm here in Florida in the late fall, winter and early spring.
I need to get a workable IWB holster to see if under an untucked t-shirt works.

Thanks for the info. Currently the newest S&W firearm I own was made prior to 1898.
ReplyDeleteI have two Glock 19 compatibles (15 round mag), an 80% Arms GST-9 and a P80 Pf9C. For just slightly smaller I have the 12 round Pf940SC which is Glock 26 compatible. I've mainly gone these routes instead of something like S&W because DIY. I love to build things. That's something that anti-gun idiots don't get (probably intentionally). They think "ghosts" are only about the no-paperwork aspect. For me that's just a pleasant addition. I'd probably build even if that advantage didn't exist., but I am glad it does. Because I can is something that gives me warm feelings.. I would certainly never want to live (or frankly any more even visit) anywhere that has draconian rules against it.
DIY definitely doesn't really save any money, at least not significant amounts, in fact it is sometimes more expensive.
And I don't personally buy any of the scare reasons why people shouldn't build, but I can understand why someone might not out of extreme caution. I get that.

I live in central Florida and I carry IWB every day. Right side of my pants button. G-19, G-43, and/or S@W-J frame. Klydex holster, the thinner the better. Have G-17 and 60 rnds close by. Been carrying all my life, 13 to 71, 72 next month.
ReplyDeleteI'm too fat for appendix carry. The Corvette got me out of IWB carry because there just wasn't space for the gun with the seat-belt latch and center console geometry.
DeleteThe Beast has more space, I might experiment with it this summer.
My daughter commented to confess to y'all that I have a J- frame and 10 rnds in a waterproof box in my shower.
DeleteAs one does...
