Obama appointee and Illinois are generally hallmarks of "wrong about guns."
They forgot "fugitive from justice" when creating this right for people here illegally. While not convicted or even arrested, they are fugitives by their very presence inside the country.
It should also be said that a core idea of the nation-state model that worked successfully for centuries is that aliens don't have the same rights as the citizenry. A valid visa was how a foreigner gained, temporary, rights. But we lost the entire idea of outlawed somewhere. Right about when hostis humani generis went out of style, I am sure.
I'd agree that someone who entered the nation legally has a right to a firearm while they're here, I disagree with the idea that a fugitive from justice does until tried, exonerated and released; this proving they were not here illegally at all.
The 14th says that citizens have privileges and immunities. That implies that non-citizens shouldn't have them. What are they? What distinguishes the citizen from the non-citizen from the alien? Anything at all? If there is no advantage to having the citizenship, or being law abiding about entering the nation, what's the use? Why even have a nation or government?
SO glad I escaped Illinois for Texas... But yeah, it seems like there are a LOT of issues with that ruling. And having been in Illinois, and knowing that to even LOOK at a firearm you need a State issued FOID card, seems unlikely that this individual was able to get the IL State Police to issue the FOID card and do the correct background check which does include status as a US Citizen... Weird how that seems not to have been an issue, but if I were caught without the permission of the State, I'd be in prison... :-) Like I said, super happy NOT to be there anymore...
ReplyDeleteArfcom News on YouTube is thrilled about the ruling. Since being an illegal or overstaying your visa are misdemeanors or civil fines then it's A-OK to be an armed fugitive in their minds.

ReplyDeleteSo I guess the bottom line is that illegal alients have MORE rights than citizens of Illinois who have to beg for permission to own a firearm (FOID card). Saying that illegal aliens can circumvent all that shows how F'd libtards are. As Angus says, they are fugitives from justice and from that standpoint should be consideree 'prohibited persons' if anyone is to be considered such.
DeleteOf course as we well know, libtards like to prosecute only the generally law abiding while giving the hardened criminals a free pass. Look at the 10s of thousands of gun laws on the books and follow the pattern of prosecution or lack thereof. They very rarely ever folow through on holding street gang members who are known (and often convicted felon) to be involved in organized crime, violent crime, up to and including murder and sex crimes for such offenses but love to throw the book at middle aged, middle class white guys for even silly, slight and often unintentional infractions. All the while claiming that this is some how "progressive" and "equitable".
It is even worse that so many of the libtard politicians who are making these policies are funded by George Soros who is an outside foreigner that is openly meddling in US elections. Throwing more resources at it than Putin and possibly even more than the CCP.
Of course Democrats are all for taking illegal campaign money from foreign interests while criticizing any conservative domestic donations. Because they are cheaters and dishonest scum. There. I said it.
