Why?
BECAUSE SPORTS DON'T FUCKING MATTER AND BY EXTENSION NEITHER DO ATHLETES!
They're a species of dancing monkey and we shouldn't waste our time on them.
If sports disappeared tomorrow your life would go on.
It's just entertainment, and no single form really matters.
Touch grass or something.
I would beg to differ. Pro sports is agreed upon. But sports in Academia is important because athleticism is not only good for ones body, but also ones mind. It's a way to learn determination, good health, and competitive behavior.
ReplyDeleteCollege sports is just a recruiting ground for professional sports, invalidating the quaint and outdated view you have of it.

DeleteIt's sometimes hard to stop being angry at the person who set off the post and register that they are not in my comment section.
The thing is, while I am not a big sports fan (except for the important sports, like target shooting) there are some big-money scholarships out there for athletes. If I had a daughter who'd busted her ass at a sport and had a real good shot at a scholarship marked "for girls only," I wouldn't be too happy seeing her euchred out of it by some boy in a wig. And I'd be even unhappier if she couldn't use the women's locker room in peace because some disturbed guy who thinks he's a girl is cruising around with his man-junk on display.
