Am I the only person who's a little disappointed that Jimmy Carter didn't live to see Iran toppled?
I am pleased to see that Obama did.

The whole Iran thing is often blamed for Carter being soundly beaten by Ronald Reagan. I think he probably would have lost anyway because there were other factors like the economy was in the dumpster and inflation was out of control. But the Iran mess and how poorly Carter handled it sure sealed the deal.
ReplyDeleteAnd if Obama isn't largely to blame for Iran being the current problem it is, then Biden is even more of a culprit. To be fair, during most of the 1980s Iran was busy fighting off Iraq and then took a long time licking their wounds and rebuilding after that so most other presidents between Reagan and Bush Jr. didn't really have to deal with them as much. Saddam is a whole other story of course.
