This Is Odd

Here I was, smug in my ignorance...

I supported renaming the USS Harvey Milk because I'd thought that Milk was just a politician from San Francisco.  A politician who was really only noteworthy for being murdered.

It turns out that he was a lieutenant junior grade and was forced to accept an other than honorable discharge in lieu of court martial for being gay.

In the Navy.

Kidding aside, being gay ain't criminal nor a reason for discharge anymore.

For a lot of people, someone being gay isn't even considered bad.

Maybe there should be a ship named after Milk because of all the prejudice and injustice done to gay people who served.  Many did from the closet and did so honorably and the bigots never knew they were there.

How can you tell someone is a bigot about straight white shit?

The word "cisnormative" comes up a lot.  Said with all the tone and bile of a Klansman saying CENSORED.

The assumption that biological sex and gender being aligned is the default state.

That belies any statement of understanding.

Cisnormative white men deserve the bad things that happen to them because of their moral corruption.

Cisnormative white men are The Other.

The Other are not people, so they get to treat them as less than people.

Don't like me pointing out your bigotry?

A real tell is the screaming that someone who's cisnormative can't speak about any situation where LGBT folks are involved, but they sure as fuck can speak about any situation where cisnormal white men are.

Even if speaking in favor of the LGBT folks!

How can you tell someone is a bigot about LGBT shit?

The word "degenerate" comes up a lot.

Morally corrupt and given to vice.

That belies any statement of mental illness and compassion for the sufferer.

Degenerates deserve the bad things that happen to them because of their moral corruption.

Degenerates are The Other.

The Other are not people, so they get to treat them as less than people.

It's their invisible friend in the driver's seat and in a nation with religious freedom, PEOPLE are free to ignore the diktats and dictates of other people's invisible friends.

By the way, I've read the book attributed to your invisible friend and you idiots are completely misreading the section on pederasty and applying to homosexuality.  The gay sex part is pretty mild.

But even accepting your invisible friend says no butt stuff, there's not a word about being generally weird.

And the constant mention of LARP and Furry says, to me, that the real issue isn't the buttsects but the being strange or different.

Wading Into It

In general, I don't particularly care for Mr. Kasarda.  I was once a patron of InRange WAAAAAAY back and they did a series of videos with another creator and I had the temerity to express that if they were going to keep doing that I didn't wanna spend my money on it.

Karl told me where the door was and I exited.

I'd always found it ironic that he extols the support of viewers but shrugs when a viewer gives feedback and ends their support.

This video is about someone who appears to be a racist and a homophobe doing their damnedest to get to a controlling position at a gun club so they can expel the undesirables from the place.

I agree, that's bullshit.

I'm pro-LGBT.  I deplore racists.

However, this little spat with the Pima Pistol Club has a different angle from other sources.

The bigot mentioned at length in the video might have gotten their foot in the door because of the Antifa angle that seems to have attached itself to Mr Kasarda.

"Thou shall not freak the mundanes!" is an old adage.  It's essentially the same thing as, "don't scare the White people."

Antifa freaks the mundanes.

If they turn a 2-gun match into a pride parade or political rally, the normies get upset.

What if they just wanted to shoot the match without the political content provided, not by the match director or range, but by fellow participants who'd been encouraged to come by the match director or their associates?

As I said about Black Star Brewing years ago, "Is the beer any good?"

Karl sounds like the people who were trying to apologize for Black Star back then to me.

I didn't take a position on race, sexuality or gender when I asked about the beer.  But I would have had to listen to a lecture about racism, sexism and homophobia to get a beer there.

What if I just wanted a beer?

Both the principles in this fight seem unaware of how the normies see them.

The bigot will get farther before getting replaced because bigots tend to be good at hiding what they are in the spaces that matter to them retaining power.  I've forgotten how many times I've seen that meme play out.

I'm willing to bet, though, that someone in a MAGA hat would be barred from a 2g-ACM match that Mr Kasarda or his associates were running.  I'm betting that way because I've heard tell of exactly that happening there.

Someone was definitely told to go away when they tried LARPing a Rhodesian soldier and compete with an FAL.  Something about not allowing racist symbols...  From a guy who LARPed as an SS soldier how many times?

He's talked about safe spaces and ignores that groups like Antifa and John Brown Gun Club people actively try to make normies feel unsafe.  Antifa is probably doing it from the other side of the "we committed terrorism!" legal line too.

For the second time a trans person has shot up a place associated with a religious school.

First in Tennesee.  Now in Minnesota.

We're getting perilously close to "where there's smoke there's fire" point and having to look a lot harder at the trans community and ask some hard questions.

One question that the LGBT community will fight tooth and nail to keep from being asked, let alone answered, is, "is gender dysphoria the primary ailment or a secondary symptom of an underlying problem?"

Modern psychiatry doesn't want to ask this either, from fear of the LGBT community's response.

I'll say it again.

The people with simple gender dysphoria are absolutely harmless.  The only problem is a mild delusion that the person in the mirror isn't them.  It's easy to work with and around.  They also tend to live long, reasonably happy lives.

Then there's the folks with gender problems that stem from something deeper.  Again, most of the time, it's manageable and has happy outcomes.

Outcomes that lead to them recognizing their genetic sex as their gender.

This is an outcome that's unacceptable to the LGBT political activists and they try to treat a symptom with little more than placebos and palliatives; leading to the underlying problem to run rampant untreated.

Why?

Because if you do, successfully, treat the underlying problem they stop being trans!

The activists can't fucking have that!

We can't even try to sort the different causes out from one another without being accused of LGBT genocide or other such nonsense.

So we end up with untreated psychoses which lead to violence to themselves and others.

There's some huge problems in modern psychiatry that need to be addressed, and there's a mountain of political activists in the way of what was once a promising scientific field. 

I'm So Old

I'm so old I can remember when us straight folks were included in the rainbow flag.

It was supposed to represent the entire spectrum, not just a narrow slice of it. 

I Too Own A Thesaurus

I'm a pretty firm supporter of adult LGBT stuff.

I've been confronted about it here too.

But something else from that Lazerpig diatribe stood out.

I will try to be gentle, but there's no real way to candy-coat it.

Trans folks, if you're looking in the mirror and the face you see doesn't match your self image you've got a wiring problem.

Where I differ from a lot of the conservative folks is what to do about it.  I prefer compassion, they prefer trauma.

But it's a mental illness.  A mental sickness.  A mental condition.

Those all mean the same thing.

Saying, "it's not a sickness, it's a condition!" as he does, is a non-sequitur.

You didn't redefine it.  You rephrased it.

"She's not pretty as Hell, she's hot as fuck!" is the same sort of thing.

"I'm not stupid, I'm dumb," is as well. 

Stating that there have been transgender people leading secret lives for centuries doesn't really bolster your argument.  Yes, and?

Weaseling around it doesn't do your side any good.

Especially since, most of the time, it makes no never mind.

But I can see the corrosive effect that the Lazerpigs are having on my position.  The loudest advocates are tending to be the craziest.  I want to be against the craziest and be supportive of the people trying to be normal as they can be.

It's getting more and more difficult and I don't like it.

Running Out Of Time

Literally Hitler only has, about, a month to get those LGBTQ concentration camps going to match Actual Real Hitler's timeline.

Considering that he's appointed openly gay people to several important spots; I suspect he's the worst Hitler evah.  Even worse than Chimpy McBushitler.  It's like there isn't going to be an LGBT genocide at all!  Legacy Media and Panic-Mongers most affected.

Literally Hitler isn't even doing a good job of being Literally Mussolini.

Even when Obama was emulating Mussolini pretty damn hard he never achieved being literally Mussolini.  And there's a lower bar to be Mussolini than Hitler!

Speaking Of De Oppressah

Trump, apparently, is the harbinger of LGBT genocide.

I keep hearing it repeated uncritically and something stands out:

If there was much, if any, violence against LGBT people the press would be all over it.

We know this because they were all over the fake violence against them.

It's like when they drop reporting of a mass shooting because the perpetrator wasn't a straight white dude.

I have also noticed that there's a massive misunderstanding about why people are upset about children being introduced to sexualization at young ages.

It's being ignored that these parents are objecting to teaching kids about straight sex so young as well.

I've done something that I don't think some of the LGBT side has done.  Looked at some of the so-called banned books.

Aside: If they were banned why were they so easy to find and read?  Being able to make a display in your book store with rainbow colored lettering saying "BANNED BOOKS" means they are not actually banned.

Age restricted is the phrase you're looking for here.

Several of the banned books I've looked through are porn.  Some as low level as a tawdry romance novel.  Some with graphic, but cartoon, illustrations.

Some are simply inserting same sex relationships.

But the LGBT side went to the mat to keep the porn.  Demanded that they be made available to children who aren't going to understand what they're looking at and didn't bat an eye about equivalent straight-sex materials being banned from school libraries.

They don't even try to advocate that ALL positions be taught, just theirs.

That alone raises my generally pro-LGBT ire.

It is often forgotten that knowledge is built from small parts eventually assembled into a whole.

I've tackled the task of explaining history to fairly young people in the course of gaming because I often do alternate histories.  The first presentation of history must be simplified, and sanitized.  More detail (and nuance) gets added later as they can begin to understand it.

And some things they just aren't going to grasp no matter how simple, because they don't know what they don't know.

Sex is even worse than history.

And the same because if you start their education with bias and lies, they end up being biased.

And THAT is why the parents are up in arms.

And we don't believe the innocence of the teachers because we watched them lie to our kids during the Wu Ping Cough lock-downs.

Scared Them Off

The people I was exchanging emails with from Operation Blazing Sword have gone silent.

This has happened before.

I sometimes suspect that once they learn that I am not actually gay they decide they'd rather not learn about guns.

I've fired off a, "hey, you still interested?" message.  If I don't get a reply...

Blazing Sword

I've offered to teach basic firearms skills to the LGBT crowd via Operation Blazing Sword since its inception.

My fifth and sixth pupils have made contact.

I have found that doing this has been divisive with some people, particularly since there's a faction of people where being communist agitators is their real motive and LGBT is a convenient cover to deflect criticism of their activities.

The, typical, idiots on the pro-gun side go for the bait and attack the LGBT shell and tend to neglect condemning the commie shit.

I have to admit, these groups are playing the pro-gun idiots brilliantly.

They're getting screenshots of them being intolerant bigots, when they really aren't... but they got pissed off and rose to the bait.

The internet is forever.

Not A One

The thing that rankles me about the trans-female athletes isn't the trans part.

It's that they're all mid-range athletes as men and dominant as women.

Not one has discovered competitive sports after transition.

Which makes me think that they're not trans at all, but simple gaming the system to be the best at something where they just middlin' good before.

Which makes me theorize that if you created a third sex category for trans-wimmins alongside men's and women's in sports you'd see a dramatic drop in the number of men transitioning because they won't be dominant, they'll be on a level playing field with others of their ability.

That this is so contentious screams to me that many LGBTQ advocates are still in "any overlap on the Venn diagram is an ally" mode that, admittedly, worked well in the past; but is losing its efficacy as the ever fringer groups are exposed to the mainstream light.

I think they need to start asking themselves if they want opportunists like trans athletes to be their spokespeople.

So Very Brave

Looking at all the LGBTQ+ alterations of Christian themes in the 2024 Summer Olympic games and all I can think is, "Yes, yes, you're so very brave.  Now do Islam."

I fucking dare you, you fucking cowards.

But you know who will put up with your shit, and it's not Islam, is it?

Push Back

Erin has mentioned the flak she's getting from trying to make the world a better place.

Considering that she's, specifically, advocating for LGBT pro-gun stuff; flak is to be expected.

But the way she's described it, doesn't sound like normal "icky guns" or "hate teh gheys" stuff.

I am wondering if she's being struck by the flak from people who don't really care about if someone is gay or not or if they're wearing the wrong clothes; but have been relentlessly hammered on by the LGBT movement that refuses to take the win until it's a massive loss.

The demands for inclusion and respect have gone well past reasonable.

People recognize when a bigot is hating them and they don't like it.  They push back.

That is hitting the reasonable LGBT people square in the jaw.

There's a huge swath of the LGBT movement that needs to understand that tolerate is the best they're going to get from a lot of people; but those people can be convinced to tolerate them.

Tolerate doesn't mean like.  It doesn't mean accept.  It, especially, does not mean, "put your interests ahead of mine."

Putting your interests ahead of mine is what a lot (all?) of the advocacy groups based on gender, race, and sex are after.

They dropped the veneer of wanting equality and are demanding to be in power over everyone else.

They're not happy with people not liking that.

People like Erin, who just want people like herself to be as safe as anyone else, are getting caught in the crossfire.  I can understand why she's depressed about it, getting shot by someone not even shooting at you is depressing.

Opportunists

I know, and am friends with, more than one trans person.

The current shit about trans athletes doesn't make me think it's actually a trans issue.

It's an opportunist move by less competitive male athlete to be competitive.

You can't doubt their dedication to the sport they've chosen because the medical requirements are a bit steep; but I certainly do doubt they're actually transsexual.

Happily! I have a solution that should work for everyone.

It's a solution that's already in play, but most people don't recognize it because it's been in play for so long.

When you answer the question, "why is there women's sports and not just sports," you have the answer.

This will mean that the LGBT+ folks are going to have to make some important admissions about transsexuals.

Primarily that a woman who was born a man is physically different from a woman born as a woman.

Once we have that, we can treat them like women and have a third "sex" in sports where the trans-women don't dominate the sport.  If we don't, we're discriminating against people who were born women.

I suspect that when we make this third category we're going to see most trans-women athletes disappear.

I suspect this because I don't think the current crop is being honest about why they're trans.

Be Careful Whom You Force To Care

I trend to supporting LGBT and associated stuff.

Once you're a person, you have rights and I demand that people get their rights.

I don't support one group or another getting more rights than anyone else.

Disclaimer out of the way:

Dear radical trans advocates,

When you sling your accusations at someone for being anti-trans or transphobic; are you sure they're not just responding to people like you being assholes about it?

Because a lot of you ARE being assholes about it.

A decent sized hunk of the "transphobic" aren't against you, per se, they simply don't give a fuck.  Apathy is not opposition or hatred.

Until you demand that they take a side, with the same sort of deal the anti-gun people give gun owners, "admit that you're wrong (and evil) and I'm right (and virtuous) and THEN we will discuss what level of punishment you will receive for being wrong (and evil) all this time."

If you don't accept their entire position as right and virtuous, you will be treated as if you were a mustache twirling villain Klansnazi bent (pun!) on the eradication of all but the cisnormative.

Lots of folks respond to this with, "Shiny, let's be bad guys," and lean into it.  If they're going to be punished for it, might as well commit the crime too.

I'm not talking about the people who were bigoted before you opened your gigantic "heads I win, tails you lose" narrative.

These are people who're nominally on your side, but don't feel they have to actively agitate all day, every day for your rights when you clearly don't give two shits about anyone else.

It's playing with a sleeping dragon's tail and it will be bad to wake it up.

There's lots of, "oh yeah, well fuck you too!" in American politics.  Especially in cases where someone should have taken the win and gone home to enjoy the fruits of their victory; but didn't.

Civil Rights, LGBT and women's rights are such cases.

There's going to be a lot of people who were satisfied with the progress made who might be very fucked if this presses too far.

PS: Phobia comes from the Greek for fear.  They don't fear you, they HATE you.  Transmisia is the word you're searching for.

PPS: I'm friends with several LGBT people who are very concerned with the effect the assholes are having on the everyday straights.

What Odds

Another shooter turns out to be transgender.

I am going to guess that the conservative side's response will be some action against transgender people in the same knee-jerk reaction as liberals have when they blame guns.

ie Nothing that will help.

A gigantic problem is that transgender is often an outward symptom of something else.  It's rarely the primary thing going on.

So it's a lot like blaming a runny nose and ignoring the flu and raging fever.

Mental healthcare is a shambles in America.

Ironically this particular niche problem can be laid at the feet of the LGBTQ+ groups who've decided that we have to ignore any underlying mental health problem that presents as gender dysphoria.

When you're mandated to ignore the root cause of something for political correctness you never get to a solution that will stick.

The solutions being offered by the conservative side often involve punishing sick people for being unwell.

Again.  Still.  Always?

I am constantly baffled that the most religious Christians can't find a gram of compassion in them.

I think there's a way out of this, but we have to be able to say that someone suffering from a mental disorder is, in fact, suffering from a mental disorder and to do so without malice and hatred.  That covers both sides of this debate.

We have one side that DEMANDS that the disorder be labeled as such and to do as much to make the problem worse as they possibly can because they CANNOT be bothered to show any compassion, offer any assistance or accommodation because they will NOT be party to "someone else's delusion."

Then we have the other side that DEMANDS that we act as if abnormal is, in fact, normal.  They make the situation worse because they actively prevent people from seeking care that could alleviate the symptoms and perhaps let the afflicted live a normal life.

Aside, left handed people are also abnormal.  It doesn't always mean something debilitating.  Also, "different from you" isn't always "abnormal."

Get this far without rage quitting?

Being gay is about as abnormal as having blue eyes or being left handed.  It's not debilitating.  This is not about being gay.

Stand alone gender dysphoria is relatively mild and doesn't need to be debilitating.

Gender dysphoria as a symptom of something else is often the harbinger of something debilitating and dangerous, most often to the sufferer and occasionally to others.

We'd be far better served sorting out who's who here than just assuming that anybody who wants to dress in the wrong clothes is a murderous monster waiting to explode.

We on the conservative side should be a bit more supportive here because this argument is exactly the same argument the liberals make about gun owners being murderous monsters just waiting to explode.

Stopped Clock

The 2nd Amendment is, indeed, for everyone.  Just because that's true, doesn't mean that saying it makes your cause righteous.  If you're planning on using your guns to take away anyone's rights or liberties you are not the good-guys.  You are the person the 2nd Amendment was written about.

 

The brew-ha-ha over the KE Arms KP-15 has nothing to do with the quality of the product.

In the red corner we have fascists who think they're freedom fighters.  Unrelated to this is a measurable portion of this corner are very pro-LGBT and a noticeable portion are Satanists.

In the blue corner we have Christian bigots who think they're saving liberty from fascism.  But they cannot just oppose the brownshirt behavior without mentioning the LGBT and Satanists.

Would that both sides lose.

I just wanted a good product at a decent price.

But the fucktards on both sides fucked that up for the rest of us.

But I'm sure to be called a bigot for wanting equal rights.  The same rights for every person.  No special rights for anyone.

I've asked before, "are you a person?"

Black PERSON.

Gay PERSON.

White PERSON.

Straight PERSON.

Religious PERSON.

Atheist PERSON.

People have rights, and we all have the same rights.

Denying someone else their rights to exercise your own makes you a tyrant. 

Both sides are guilty of this, though they don't appear to realize it. 

And this is just skimming the surface in a Cliff's Notes manner.

Rumor Mongering

There's a rumor floating around that KE Arms, maker of the KP-15 monolithic polymer lower, has shrunk from about 50 people to around three to five.

I wonder if it's because of the rhetoric that Russel Fagen was tossing around.

You can read here that I'm good with LGBT folks and hardly a transphobe.  I get shit from the more conservative commenters about it too.

But if your sales director is out there saying shit that sure sounds like, "if you're not completely and totally fine with grooming kids to be trans, then fuck you we don't want your fucking business!"

Well, there's going to be some pushback and people will walk with their wallets. 

I'm with them about fucking with the kids.

If you figure you're trans once the secondary sexual characteristics start coming in, then we need to start analyzing what's going on.

And if it's genuine, then let's get the proper accommodations going.

But it's not near as widespread as so many people think it is.

In many ways, the sudden upswing is a lot like Celiac Disease.  No, you are not sensitive to gluten, and don't have Celiac's.

But the condition is in the media's mouth and lots of people are misinterpreting their "symptoms" and coming to the wrong conclusions.

Another issue is the apparent aligning with people who are threatening to murder anyone who doesn't toe their line about what, exactly, is a transsexual right.

I suspect I'd be on the death list because I'm insisting that we wait for puberty and then make sure it's one of the identifiable conditions before we start in with making changes we cannot reverse.

Yet, no problem with Erin...  Or Tacticool Girlfriend, for that matter.  They're grown-ups.  Grown-ups get to make their own decisions.

And reap the rewards of consequences of those decisions.
