Several youtubers and podcasters who cover entertainment have been mentioning that Hollywood is increasingly concerned that all the jobs are disappearing and that LA will start looking like Detroit soon.

First, my shocked face is shocked.

If you're excluding someone you're not being inclusive.
It's like saying a Klan meeting is creating a safer and more inclusive cross burning environment.
I seem to recall lawsuits about all men's country clubs.
But it's hilarious that these women went to an all women's nightclub and seemed to still expect men to buy them expensive drinks.
The teachers in my county are discovering how the rest of us live.
Their new health plan will result in them paying up to $36 a month to pay for their health insurance!
AND They will have co-pays for emergency room visits.
AND They will have more limited choices about whom they go to see and under what circumstances.
Oh? You mean just like the rest of us since Obamacare?
Harvey plunks down nearly $500 a month for healthcare, has co-pays and gets to pick from a short list of places she can see.
So, sorry, Teach, if I don't have a lot of sympathy for your plight.
We've been trying to explain to the teachers we know that benefits are part of "pay" and they make a lot more than they think they do. I won't even begin to talk about their no-contribution-instantly-vested-retirement-plan's value.
Their real problem (for them) is Florida made it possible, simple and not very difficult to get our kids out of public schools and into smaller education venues that actually teach the Three-R's. Public schools lose the money when a parent does that.
So lots of school districts are seeing a funding problem and rather than reduce admin overhead, they're hitting the teachers up for healthcare.
Of course, they're not blaming their unions for going along with it or the administrators for sucking up 3/4 of the funding... Nope! It's us cheapskate taxpayers and the Rethuglicans in Tallahassee!
Well, a lot of us watched how you behaved during COVID and we remember. You didn't deserve what you were getting then and you haven't done anything to redeem yourselves.

I think that people are losing their minds harder with Trump Derangement Syndrome than Bush Derangement Syndrome because Trump is actually doing something.
We have a local version with DeSantis, he's making bold moves and they don't know how to handle it when they dislike them for being the wrong party AND they're bucking the status quo.
Because the hated republicans were only allowed to maintain the status quo when they were in power, never to reverse the ratchet.
I cannot wait to see how the protests against immigration in Mexico are different from protests in the USA against immigration.
Because the Mexicans will surely have the moral position and we 'Mercians won't.
I do so love watching them spin hypocrisy in a manner that the normies can spot.

There's no message from Steve Jackson Games being happy that the tariffs have crumbled and a massive trade deal with West Taiwan has been forged.
They were sure unhappy back at the beginning of April.
Seems to me that everything they complained about has been solved in about a month.

I replied to that thread telling him that we got the same shit after Helene and Milton and to keep his chin up.
I don't feel California had it coming any more than Sarasota or North Carolina did.
But there's definitely things California could have done that would have mitigated the fires, or even made them a non-event.
You have to cut fire breaks.
You have to make the roads that let people escape.
You have to maintain the infrastructure that keeps the hydrants flowing.
California failed to do that.
The people of California voted for the people who would neglect those things.
Did I say, "neglect?"
I meant to say actively destroyed and worked against policies that would have kept this from getting out of hand.
At one time California had the water thing figured out.
Environmentalists made sure that was undone.
Fire breaks are fundamental in keeping wildfires under control.
Environmentalists made sure none were cut.
Expanding roads to make sure gridlock doesn't trap people on the roads and prevent first responders from responding is part and parcel of an increasing population.
Environmentalists and NIMBYist combined to make sure roads weren't widened.
California voters didn't vote to stop or even slow environmentalists and have, thus, reaped the whirlwind.
Florida is about to enter its wildfire season. Wanna bet we don't make the national news. Again...
Trump should use the justification of the USA needing "living space" for annexation of Canada as its 51st+ state.

It probably wasn't the Google search that got him. They prolly were on to him and we know about the search from their monitoring.
