It's September again and that means Kilted To Kick Cancer is on!
This is a link, click it.
My personal interest in this is my buddy Garry.
He's got a fairly aggressive form of prostate cancer and rather than being dead, experimental treatments that are funded by donations like this have kept it at bay.
To the point that his doctor thinks his bum ticker will get him before the cancer! OK, it's not all good news.
I've no stake in who collects the most funds, but I do hope you donate!
Who knows, the life you save could be your own.

Kilted To Kick Cancer
There's hardly a person who reads this blog who isn't reading someone else who's participating, donate through their team.
The same four people will rake in all of the prizes, again, anyways, so just donate to one of those four and all will be good with the world.
Me? I'm sick of people complaining that PCF mails them letters because they donated once.
So combine no chance of winning with the complaints as if I was personally responsible for junk mail broke this camel's back.
Do donate! It's a good cause!
You just can't donate through my "team".
It was also disheartening that only one donation last time came from someone I had not harangued personally via IM or vox. Only got one mention from a non-participating blogger.
I didn't even get a stinking t-shirt.

A Bit Stunned
Considering that I've garnered $750 in donations (maybe more because of people who can't follow directions)...
I'm not an underdog for Kilted...
Wow.
Considering that AD is out of prize consideration, I'm very close to being eligible for loot!
I'm never eligible to win.
It's knowing that I can't win that lets me donate and cajole without feeling guilty for asking.
Existential crisis in thirty seconds...

$700
Team McThag has garnered $700 for KTKC!
You guys rock!
Special thanks to Tam for the plug on her blog!
Since we broke $500... I've got to dunk my junk.
Video will be coming soon.

Bleggin
I know a couple of my readers have more read blogs than my meager abode.
Iffin y'all could pimp me a bit for Kilted To Kick Cancer, I'd really appreciate it.
JayG is a great guy and all, and he really drags in the donations, but the man isn't even partially Scottish!
Give a Scot a chance to get ahead for a change!

Going For The Heart-Strings
The bald guy here is Garry. Garry is, at present, a two time survivor of prostate cancer!
We're working on the third time right this second, dammit.
The treatment he's getting is experimental and we're told primarily funded by generous donations like KTKC generates.
It's obviously not cheap, but we like Garry and would like to keep him around a bit longer; if only to terrorize the wait-staff at Cuban Breezes for the INC meetings.
The other person in the picture wants to keep her grandpa around too.
Donate early, donate often! Be sure to say Team McThag!

Off To A Great Start!
The standings for KTKC are posted and we're doing great!
$195 for Team McThag and $1,530 total.
Huzzah!
Now I have to go back and see if I promised anything for breaking $200...

Gaming Stories...
I've got a few...
For teaser purposes... Titles.
Warren and the security booth.
Warren and the UH-1H.
Warren and the windshield.
Rhonda and the tail.
Fuzzygeff, Vacuum, Hyperspace and Tie-Downs.
Anglave and the Trusting Tenderfoot.
How much are the complete stories worth?
Make a donation and mention how much in the comments and see if you've unlocked the achievement!

A Suggestion
Willard says that instead of ugly guys in kilts, we should have hot school-girls in leather.
Make a big enough donation and I think we can make that happen.
Y'all will have to settle for 18+ school girls because we're only so creepy here.

KTKC
We were at $75 yesterday morning.
If we keep up the $25 a day pace we should pull $750 by the time this closes!
Y'all can do it!
There are 15 followers down there, $20 each and we're at $300.
200 people hit this site on average every day; even a BUCK from each of you is $200.
You've got a dollar, don't you?
Leave a comment for ideas that will incentivize you. As long as it's legal and I won't injure myself past embarrassment I'm likely to do it.

KTKC '14 Is ON!
Click on the pic to your right, don't forget to click the box for "This donation is made as part of a Fundraising Team" then select "team McThag" from the drop down menu that will appear.
I'd be pleased as punch to have $1,000 channeled through my name this year. I'd be nearly as thrilled to have just $20, but that doesn't do near as much good for the recipients.
We hit $500 and I'll do the "dunk your junk" bit!
The Dog might have to translate anything I say after that though...

Last Day Begins
2013 KTKC wraps up today and I've done better this year than I have done in the previous two years combined!
I feel like I, no WE, deserve some sort of "most improved" award; I made my stated goal for the first time and having met that goal, surpassed it by more than the entire donation from last year. We got $45 the first year, $250 last year and so far (still time to donate!) $775 this year.
Truly, everyone who contributed rocks!

KTKC Is A Bit Short
Despite getting my personal best ever level of donations, the charity drive this year is far short of its overall goals.
AD wants to hit $10k and it's hovering at about $1,500 below that.
Could you see your way fit to donate a little more to help this along?
Two $25 donations would be about perfect!

Again, just because we shattered my goal doesn't mean you should not make a donation or even not give a second time.
It's a worthy cause.
If you need a baser motivation: Just think of what JayG and the other big dogs saying, "WHO?" if I snagged a top-three spot!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL
As they say during futbol games.
I've made my $500 goal for the first time!
Happy Dance!
Thanks to everyone who contributed!
To everyone who hasn't, but was waiting for payday or something similar, there's no reason to not contribute past the goal; it is a worthy cause.
I didn't set a stretch goal for this moment, I despaired of making it, but I will put my mind to it and see if I can come up with a photo or something to commemorate it properly.
Thanks!

HAUUUUUUCHK
We are spitting distance from breaking $400 for KTKC.
At the moment of post, $375 and in fifth place for totals.
That is a mere FIVE $25 donations from my goal; and it would be the first time I'd ever made my goal.
This is also the best my part has ever been, you guys rock! This is $125 more than I managed to convince people to donate last year and your generosity was staggering then.
Especially since I offer no enticements or bribes! Just the warm fuzzy feeling that you've materially contributed.

Donations
I have to wonder if people think there's a minimum donation that's acceptable to PCF and KTKC.
There is not.
You could donate a penny.
It doesn't have the same effect on getting me towards my goal of $500 total donations, it's something.
Something is better than nothing!
Every year I do this and I think that if we'd had the money back when would Acidman still be around? Would my grandpa? Would Marv's step-father? Would countless others?
These donations helped pay for the experimental treatments that are helping my friend Garry (pic of him tomorrow I hope). There's a real world right there person who's benefitted from these donations. Without them, that treatment that helped would not have been available.
I remember him telling us, before the treatment was offered, that he'd gotten his stuff in order and was getting ready for the end.
We're thrilled that the old curmudgeon responded and is doing well.

Kicking Cancer
Hanging with Robert and Kim who are running their own charity drive for St Judes at The Brass Tap in Trinity.
Marv was kind enough to snap a pic of me in my 5.11 Tactical Kilt and Sporran. Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier is what I am imbibing.
Nobody had me hold still to scan the QR code to donate to KTKC, but it's still a sound idea in theory.
