Offended For Them Because They Won't Be Offended For Themselves

Something I accidentally hit while looking for other stuff about The Sioux.

American Indians volunteer for the military in fairly high numbers compared to their population.

They've done so since the beginning of the nation, as a matter of fact.

Strange they're fine with joining forces with the people who genocided them into non-existence...  Except for that whole thing that there are actually more Indians now than when Columbus landed.

The thing I keep hitting, over and over, is most Native Americans are of the philosophy of, "we fought, we lost, we got over it and moved on," and it's a small minority who keep stirring shit back up.

Turns out race baiting isn't just for African American grifters!

Grifting comes in all colors!

Plus you never hear about the people who just shrugged and joined American society and live productive, happy, lives.  Happy productive people don't make the news or garner any graft.  You need angry, unhappy, people for that.

Every race can produce some of those.

Turns out that most American Indians aren't sitting around feeling either offended or sorry for themselves.

While they might be as proud of being Cheyenne as I am of being Scots-Italian, it's not their primary allegiance.

PS: My Blackfoot wife is not pinin' for The Rez; she's an example of a happy, productive, citizen.

We're The Ones Who Got Ozymandius Motherfucker

https://x.com/Arrogance_0024/status/2040700125882859864

I am shocked that a Frenchman can't understand it.

French gives us the ultimate explanation in one short sentence, "Tous pour un et un pour tous!"

Heinlein explained it in Starship Troopers.

"Are a thousand unreleased prisoners sufficient reason to start or resume a war? Bear in mind that millions of innocent people may die, almost certainly will die, if war is started or resumed."

I didn't hesitate. "Yes, sir! More than enough reason."

"'More than enough.' Very well, is one prisoner unreleased by the enemy, enough reason to start or resume a war?"

I hesitated. I knew the M.I. answer -- but I didn't think that was the one he wanted. He said sharply, "Come, come, Mister! We have an upper limit of one thousand; I invited you to consider a lower limit of one. But you can't pay a promissory note which reads 'somewhere between one and one thousand pounds' -- and starting a war is much more serious than paying a trifle of money. Wouldn't it be criminal to endanger a country -- two countries, in fact -- to save one man? Especially as he may not deserve it? Or may die in the meantime? Thousands of people get killed every day in accidents ... so why hesitate over one man? Answer! Answer yes, or answer no -- you're holding up the class."

He got my goat. I gave him the cap trooper's answer. "Yes, sir!"

"'Yes' what?"

"It doesn't matter if it's a thousand -- or just one, sir. You fight."

"Aha! The number of prisoners is irrelevant. Good. Now prove your answer."

I was stuck. I knew it was the right answer. But I didn't know why. He kept hounding me. "Speak up, Mr. Rico. This is an exact science. You have made a mathematical statement; you must give proof. Someone may claim that you have asserted, by analogy, that one potato is worth the same price, no more, no less, as a thousand potatoes. No?"

"No, sir!"

"Why not? Prove it."

"Men are not potatoes."

I still say our policy about ANY American, ANYWHERE, is that it should be safer to eat white arsenic than to harm our citizens.

Wrong Day Sir

I have checked my calendar.  It is not May 17th.  It is not May 26th.

It is November 11th.

Today is not for the fallen in the USA.

Today is not for those who still serve.

They've their own days that we do observe.

Please let us have this one to ourselves.

They Forgot To Build Quit Into This Guy

Perhaps the most wounded soldier ever.

Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart. VC, KBE, CB, CMG, DSO

He was shot in the face, head, stomach, groin, ankle, leg, hip and ear. He was also blinded in his left eye, survived two plane crashes, tunneled out of a prisoner-of-war camp and tore off his own severely injured fingers when a doctor declined to amputate them. Describing his experiences in the First World War, he wrote, "Frankly, I had enjoyed the war."

Today, in 1947, the Air Force left the Army.

Happy Birthday, Zoomies!

Shines The Name

On July 31, 1943, the infantry company of which Pvt. Young was a member, was ordered to make a limited withdrawal from the battle line in order to adjust the battalion's position for the night. At this time, Pvt. Young's platoon was engaged with the enemy in a dense jungle where observation was very limited. The platoon suddenly was pinned down by intense fire from a Japanese machinegun concealed on higher ground only 75 yards away. The initial burst wounded Pvt. Young. As the platoon started to obey the order to withdraw, Pvt. Young called out that he could see the enemy emplacement, whereupon he started creeping toward it. Another burst from the machine gun wounded him the second time. Despite the wounds, he continued his heroic advance, attracting enemy fire and answering with rifle fire. When he was close enough to his objective, he began throwing hand grenades, and while doing so was hit again and killed. Pvt. Young's bold action in closing with this Japanese pillbox and thus diverting its fire, permitted his platoon to disengage itself, without loss, and was responsible for several enemy casualties.

Black Man With A Gun

And he's a hero!

This guy most likely saved lives with this actions.  Literal good guy with a gun.  The media just cannot accept that.

Another thing the media gets wrong; the police didn't just roll up and shoot him to death for being black and having a gun.  Almost like there isn't systemic racism in every police force and hardly any cops are bastards.

Go figure.

Colion Noir has a video breakdown.

86 81 years ago was D-Day.

If it hasn't slipped beyond living memory, that day is getting close.

It's up to us to remember now.

An Idea Whose Time Is Long Past Due

The U.S.S. Robert A. Heinlein Campaign!

We want the new Secretary of the Navy – John Phelan — to name a future DDG-51 Flight III
destroyer for Robert A. Heinlein.

************************
It is the prerogative of the Secretary of the Navy to name Navy vessels. Navy policy is to name destroyers for deceased members of the Navy.

We want the new Secretary of the Navy – John Phelan — to name a future DDG-51 Flight III destroyer for Robert A. Heinlein.

This would happen if lots of people write asking him to name a future Arleigh
Burke-class destroyer for Heinlein.

Phelan’s address is:
The Honorable John Phelan
Secretary of the Navy
Room 4E686
Defense Pentagon
Washington, D.C. 20301

More information may be found at the Campaign website.

MLK Day

It's in January because Martin Luther King Jr was born in January.

But his birthday was the 15th.

I don't object to honoring the man, but if you're going to base it on his birthday, then HAVE it on his birthday!

"But then we don't get a three day weekend, and sometimes we don't get a day off at all!"

Yeah, suck it.

Because if the point is to honor him then it shouldn't just be because it's a three day weekend.

And it's JUST a three day weekend to most people meaning it's completely failed to do honor to Mr King.

This is why I argue with people who complain about where Independence Day and Veteran's Day fall.  Those dates are picked for a reason and reducing them to a three day weekend cheapens the honor.

Look how diluted Memorial Day is.

Go For Broke

It's not a mainstream film, it's obscure now.

MGM says it turned a profit of $761,000 on $3,337,000 in ticket sales in 1951 bucks.

But it's public domain, like "It's A Wonderful Life."

It definitely deserves a remake.

Veteran's Day

Today, in the USA, it's Veteran's Day.

A day set aside for those who went in and came out.

It seems odd to have to say it, but today is not for the fallen in the USA; that's Memorial Day.

It isn't for those whom are still serving; that's Armed Forces Day.

If you know a vet, buy them a beer, take them out to dinner, get them laid.

Remind them of all the freebies available!

When you hit the places giving out freebies, be gracious and buy something that's got big margins (like a beer) because it wasn't so long ago that nobody but us and the post office remembered Veteran's Day at all.

Plus!  Tip the wait staff like you'd paid for the meal, not on just the cost of the beer.

Also, let the stolen valor people go.  This is the only validation they're getting in their pathetic lives, can you think of a harsher punishment than letting be what they are?  Don't save them!

You're Welcome For My Service!

The American Legion has put out their list of places offering deals to Veterans tomorrow.

Please, if you take advantage of one of these deals, make a point to visit at least two more times when they aren't to show you appreciated it.

They don't have to do anything on Veteran's Day, be gracious in return.

An Honorable Alternative To Military Service

When I say the USAF is not the military, I cite today.

15Sep47 is the Air Force's ETS date.

After your exit the service date, you are no longer in the military.

I have to admit, their NFA collection is way more impressive than mine.

Happy Birthday, Zoomies!

You Make Pick Up

PFC Luther "Woody" Bagley was returned to his family and laid to rest Friday.

His widow and son were present.

I learned that this is the correct thing to do from Heinlein.

You don't spare any expense to make sure everyone is accounted for and given proper burials.

Everyone.

No matter how long it takes and how much we have to spend.

Even if we don't know exactly who they are.  We have a tomb for that too.

Two Three Four

Happy Birthday Coasties!

The oft forgotten fifth branch of the service.

In order, Army, Navy, Coastal Artillery, Lighthouse Service, Coast Guard.

Twofer

Today is National Medal of Honor Day and National Whiskey Day.

So you can have a shot of whisky and toast those who earned that itty bitty ribbon.

Choosing Evil

I note that it wasn't Jews celebrating on September 11, 2001.

It was not Jews flying hijacked airliners into packed skyscrapers, killing thousands.

If Hamas and Palestinians are "good" then I choose evil.

My "don't care who kills you, as long as someone does," meter was pegged that day watching you cocksuckers celebrating the deaths of thousands of my countrymen.

You want my sympathy, you need to be sympathetic to my injuries.

But you celebrated that I was hurt that day.

I celebrate that you will suffer at the hands of those you recently wronged.

Your celebration nullified my cares that you might have been wronged in the past.

You decided which side I would be on.

Respect

This is Shlomo Ron. When Hamas terrorists invaded his home in Kibbutz Nahal Oz, this 85-year-old frail man had a plan. He left his wife, daughters and grandson in the shelter, and went to sit in his living room, waiting for his death. He figured that when terrorists break in they will see him, execute the lonely old man, and move on. He was right. He’s a hero who sacrificed himself for the people he loves. May be rest in peace.
