Mobile Gltich

The crash glitch on Crispy IV moves from one box to another.

I have two T420S boxes.

Moving the hard drives from the newer (to me) machine to the older (to me) machine moves the glitch.

That makes me think that it's not the box, but something on the drive.

I have JT on the case and he's thinking hard upon it.

    If the glitch moved with the components, there ain't no thinking about it. It is the drives. Have you done any recent updates? Flawed code will do it...

      The damn drive is still under warranty. It replaced an obviously failing drive just last year and the only file I moved directly from the old drive to the new was my Thunderbird archive. It was a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.

      Might have to make me a claim.

      It just occurred to me that the drive in the multi-drive caddy is ancient. If it's glitching out, it could be taking the whole thing down with it. Gonna experiment with removing it and seeing if the problem stops.

      I'd been using it to store movies I don't often watch, so it won't necessarily be missed.
