Well, there's 29 states where you can carry without any training or permission slip already, so odds are the situation is already "anyone you see could have a gun on them."
You're also very unlikely to need the police to protect you from a perfectly legal activity.
41 states already recognize each others permits.
It's literally not a problem except in the states with the most draconian gun control and the highest crime rates.
It's the Old Blood In The Streets argument that has never, ever come true. Mind boggling levels of stupid.
ReplyDeleteThe people who are carrying legally, either licensed or unlicensed are almost never the problem. Almost all the problem is people who are carrying illegally, mainly people who are not even in this country legally or are convicted felons or otherwise prohibited people. And frankly, historically the Police have pretty much powerless to protect anyone from those people regardless or whether concealed carry is legal or not. The places with the most violent crime tend to be places with the most restrictions on firearms ownership and carry and the more controlled by liberals, the more ineffective the Police tend to be. Especially since even if the Police are honest they are usually underfunded and not supported by prosecutors or judges who don't tend to enforce the laws against the people actually causing the problem. Prosecutions for firearms offenses in these areas tend to be mostly politically motivated towards conservatives and real criminals are generally unpunished.

The same people who freak out about people maybe having guns on them think nothing of driving on roads where only a painted yellow line separates them from oncoming traffic. Even though we lose far more people in road accidents than to gunfire, every year.
