I have never been happy with the stocks that came with my Springfield Armory M1911A1 GI.
The ones that came from the factory were a bit too wide and forced my thumb web where it would get bit by the hammer and beaver-tail.
I had a set of USGI stocks from a Remington Rand M-1911A1 my dad had given me. Those were severely beat up and never looked right on an otherwise pristine gun.
I found a cheap set of black plastic stocks for $5 that were identical in feel to the USGI and was reasonably happy with them.
Today at the show, I picked up a 1911 with smooth wood stocks and thought, "I like this!"
So we found a vendor selling them and here's the result...
