Stocks

I mentioned my quest for better stocks for the 1911 before. The smooth rosewood The Lovely Harvey pointed out at the Orlando Funshow feels better than any other 1911 grip I have ever held.

I took a pick of all the also-rans for comparison purposes, first with ambient light then with flash.

Left to right, stock Springfield Armory Model 1911-A1 GI walnut; WW2 issue USGI from my dad's Rem-Rand; Colt's rubber; unknown black plastic; smooth rosewood.

Same order showing the various thicknesses.
