Tea

I enjoy a nice cup of hot tea from time to time.

The problem is my tea has tasted wrong.  I thought I liked english breakfast, but every attempt to make a cup was "off".

Turns out I was getting two simple things wrong.

First, the microwave just doesn't get the water hot enough.  It needs to be at a rolling boil.

Second, I was not steeping near long enough.  Five minutes is right.

Now my tea is how I like it!

PS: Milk, no sugar.

  1. I make tea the cheap way. 2-3 quarts of water, 2 tablespoons tea. Mix water and tea, then let come to a boil on the stove.

Turn off heat and allow to stand for 10 mins. Strain.

You get a LOT of tea for short money, and its good. Also it just so happens that I don't like my tea hot as a re-entry vehicle, so its a more moderate temperature when its strained.

  2. That's a different kind of tea, and I like it too. But it's not right when its hot and not what I was aiming for.

Gallons and gallons of sun tea get drank here.

  3. Was it to the point that you were drinking something that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea? ;-)
