What you think is paint is probably something called "Suncorite". It is a fairly toxic evil substance (I have a pair of post-war built Enfields coated in the stuff).
ReplyDeleteYou'd do well to remove it all and replace it with the DuraCoat equivalent that doesn't require heat curing.
Beyond that, I'm totally jealous.
