Be Cautious In Your Celebration

The National Guard troops that President Trump is sending out to enforce the law happen to be enforcing a law we (including me) agree with.

I'm not reading stories about the troops refusing to deploy because it's an unlawful order.

Be cautious about celebrating the precedent established here.

It will be used against us.

And the troops will deploy.

History tells us, they always do.

This is not to say that, sometimes, the use of troops is not the right answer.

Where they're going are places that, in an earlier age, would be considered to be in rebellion with their refusal to allow the enforcement of Federal laws and giving aid and succor to Federal criminals.

The terms sedition and treason come to mind.

I just don't trust the liberals to use any kind of judicious restraint once they come to power again.

  1. Pretty sure restraint is not in their bag of tricks.

    1. With them openly advocating for assassinations, and killing opponent's children because "people don't change until they feel pain", restraint isn't even on the same planet as their bag of tricks.

  2. They always say be careful what you wish for. Although the Trump administration is fairly benevolent, if the Stalinist Democrats get back into power they're very likely to really take advantage of any expanded powers for using federal agencies and military against civilians in evil ways. It was bad enough when the Clintonistas used BATF to murder women and children in incidents like Ruby Ridge and Mount Carmel and that Obama and Biden weaponized the IRS against their political adversaries, but if they expand those kinds of things with other agencies against anyone even moderately right of center like many Democrats talk about, then it will be a real mess.

  3. The same liberals who're screaming like stuck pigs over this cheered Eisenhower to the echo when he deployed Federal troops to Little Rock, IIRC.

  4. Unsure what the actual orders are... If they are being Federalized in order to protect Federal facilities, I'd argue the orders are probably fine... But saying that I was an NCO in a line combat unit and certainly NOT a lawyer. Those decisions occur FAR above the level I existed at. Just the standard "Be VERY cautious refusing orders lest ye end up in Ft. Leavenworth" once Federalized as I only did a short stretch in the IL Nat Guard and that was LONG ago...

  5. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters.
