On the advice of Roberta X

Roberta X says we should not debate the antis because that gives them practice debating, thus improving their debating skills.

Instead, she suggests we cut them off at the knees and ask Joe Huffman's "One Question."

"Can you demonstrate one time or place, throughout all history, where the average person was made safer by restricting access to handheld weapons?"

I will do so from now on.  Joe is also the originator of the "Jews in the Attic" test.

  1. I'm okay with antis having better debating skills. I'm okay with actual debate.

I think our rights are worth that much. If we can't articulate our position in a real debate, then we haven't invested much time in learning about them.

The other aspect is there are dozens of people who haven't decided or hadn't thought of the issues for every dedicated anti we debate.

If we change 1 or even 2 of those people, then it is a net win for the pro-rights side.
